Manchester Airport delayed and cancelled flights on Saturday, December 28 amid thick fog and travel warnings

Thousands of passengers will fly from Manchester Airport as the festive getaway continues. Some families who reunited for Christmas will be heading back home across the globe.
Others will be jetting off to enjoy a holiday to welcome the New Year in next week. Many passengers will enjoy a smooth experience as they set off from one of Manchester's three terminals.
But others could face severe disruption - with long delays or cancellations. It comes as the UK is hit by a third day of murky weather, with thick fog expected to impact visibility again today (December 28).
Air traffic restrictions were imposed on a number of UK airports including Manchester on Friday. These restrictions remain in force as of Saturday morning.
